XBox, Poker, Movies, and Personalities
Posted December 17th, 2004 in Games, General, MoviesI was told a while ago that I haven’t posted here in quite some time. I investigated the matter and it turns out that it was true.
So I decided to post here and just say what’s been happening for that past month.
Well, for starters, I bought an XBox. I’ve been playing a few games on there, mostly ones that I can pick up and play for 30 minutes or so and walk away–with the exception of Fable. Fable consumed me for a couple of days, and when it was over I decided that it was too short. Mind you, I didn’t complete all the side quests because I was interested in the story developing in the main ones. Now that Fable’s done, I’ll probably start playing Knights of the Old Republic over the holidays.
In addition to the XBox, I’ve been spending more and more time playing and learning about another game… Texas Hold’em. I play with two different groups of people, plus I just recently started playing online at PokerRoom.com. I was a little wary about playing online first because a lot of people don’t bet sensibly when there’s no real money involved, but PokerRoom was recomended to me, so I gave it a shot and was impressed. They have a Java applet version, so I can play at home running Linux, and most of the people on there play sensibly. (My play money account on there is now up to $17k)
I’ve seen a couple of movies in the past little while as well. ‘Finding Neverland’ gets the GeoffHolden.com seal of approval. ‘Closer’ on the other hand, does not. I won’t go into why it don’t, because Sarah Lane’s review sums it up nicely.
Besides all that, I’ve mostly just been working. But I did find out that I’m an ISTP today. Which type are you?
