Books and Music
Posted February 14th, 2005 in Books, MusicI received a copy of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code (the special illustrated edition) for Christmas this year, and just got around to starting it this past weekend. I had been told on a couple of occasions that it was a really good book, and each of those people were right. An interesting and entertaining book that’s very difficult to put down–which is why I also finished it this weekend. For anybody who hasn’t read it yet, it’s definitely worth picking up a copy.
Now, on to music…
I have a hard time trying to find new music to listen to (good new music), most of the stuff on the radio (here in Newfoundland anyways) is absolute garbage. So I always play CDs in the car, and my clock radio is locked in on K-Rock. While that’s OK, I still like to find new music to listen to… Enter the scrobbler, Audioscrobbler that is. Audioscrobbler is a nice site that will monitor what music you listen to and try to find your ‘musical neighbours’, people who listen to similar music that you do. Once it identifies these people, you can look at what other artists that they tend to listen to as potential new music for yourself.
So, here’s my user page on Audioscrobbler if anybody cares to see what I’m listening to.

Hey Geoff, is that you? Music in Newfoundland does suck… I’ve got some stuff you could listen to.

Anyway, it seems I don’t have your e-mail address anymore! Obviously, I’m going to try the one posted above here.
Later,
Dave
