This week’s photo is of Fort Amherst, as seen from Signal Hill, at night. Brian and I went up there this evening to take a few pictures, and it’s my best shot of the night.
Now, I’ve gotten a few comments offline about my photos looking too dark (this one is a little dark though), or (in the case of my shots from the road trip, which I’ve printed) that they don’t look the same on screen as they did on paper. The photos are fine (well, most of them), the problem is with your monitor. I’m not going to get into a whole thing about colour calibration here, but I’ve linked an image with the numbers 1 through 10 in boxes of different shades of gray–you should be able to see the line between each of these boxes, if not you should adjust your brightness and contrast until you can. That’s a good first step.
